It all started in high school… – Report from Friday, May 16, 2008
It all started during my upper secondary school years. All of a sudden, I could no longer read what was written on the blackboard. It was clear that I needed glasses. Unfortunately, my eyesight continued to deteriorate. At some point, I decided to wear contact lenses. As my eyes are very sensitive, it took around half a year to find lenses that I could tolerate. At first, everything went well. However, over time I began to suffer from recurring conjunctivitis. These episodes were very unpleasant and painful. Eventually, I became completely fed up and frustrated. I simply did not feel comfortable wearing glasses. When I then saw the report on television, it became clear to me that this had to be the solution to my problem.
First, I gathered information on the internet. I came across www.swisslasik.ch and immediately requested an information pack. To my surprise, I received it just two days later. I started studying it straight away. As I still had a few additional questions, I contacted Mr Karaagacli-Leoni by email. It did not take long before I received answers to my questions. This showed me that I was in the right place.
On 30 April 2008, we then travelled to Istanbul by plane. We were picked up at the airport and taken to our hotel.
On 1 May 2008, I was picked up from the hotel again early in the morning and taken to the Eyestar Clinic. There, I received a very warm welcome.
The preliminary examinations began immediately. Afterwards, I had a further consultation with the doctor. He explained my situation and which method would be used. If there were any further questions, they could be asked.
Later, we went one floor higher, where the operating theatre was located. I slowly started to feel nervous. The nurse did everything she could to calm me down. Finally, the moment arrived. The operating theatre door opened and the procedure began. After about 10 minutes, it was all over. To my surprise, I felt no pain at all. My eyes only watered slightly. Afterwards, we were allowed to rest on large reclining chairs. After about 10 minutes, we were given eye drops. The watering stopped and I could see clearly. Completely amazed, we then went back downstairs for the follow-up examination. Afterwards, I returned to the hotel and rested. After four hours, I woke up. I could hardly believe it, but my vision was perfect. I could see everything without any visual aids. It was a wonderful feeling.
I can only recommend the procedure. I feel completely comfortable without glasses.
In addition, I would like to give very high praise to the entire team. I felt very comfortable at the clinic.
