The all-inclusive laser eye surgery package – report from Saturday, August 9, 2008
Wearing glasses there – no return trip
Istanbul is worth a visit! And for two reasons: behind the magnificent mosques, the mystical Bosphorus, and the colorful bazaars lies the real reason to embark on a journey to this city on two continents: laser eye surgery! Have you also considered having your eyes treated several times? Then don’t hesitate and travel to Istanbul.
Trust swisslasik.ch!
With our partner swisslasik.ch, it’s incredibly easy: contact us online, book your appointment, fly, and have the laser surgery – all included. If you’d like to be absolutely sure beforehand, swisslasik.ch offers a preliminary examination at a special price right here in Switzerland. I only had a short test at the VEDIS Eye Clinic and then flew to Istanbul to have the preliminary examination and treatment at the Eyestar Clinic. Of course, doubts creep in before and during the trip: is this the right decision? It’s perfectly normal to feel a bit uneasy at times. But with this experience, I can only say one thing: you’re doing the right thing! Sure, there are more pleasant things than undergoing eye surgery, but the team at swisslasik.ch and the Eyestar Clinic make everything as comfortable as possible for you. And the result is simply outstanding and unbeatable.
Do your research!
I think it’s important that you thoroughly research the different treatment methods beforehand. Don’t hesitate to ask questions, whether at swisslasik.ch in Switzerland or at the Eyestar Clinic. The more you can visualize the treatment, the less uncomfortable you’ll be lying under the laser. And believe me, whether you’re accompanied into the operating room in Istanbul or Switzerland makes absolutely no difference. You’ll feel a little unsteady either way – that’s perfectly normal! But who’s to say the Swiss do it better? Doctors in Istanbul have received the same training, and their equipment is often even more advanced! Experience makes perfect, and the doctors in Istanbul certainly have an advantage here, as they treat far more patients than those here.
City break and treatment
Once you land in Istanbul, everything happens very quickly. After the transfer to your hotel, you’ll receive your appointment for the preliminary examination at the clinic, and until then, you’ll have free time to explore this wonderful city. I was lucky that my preliminary examination wasn’t until the following day around 5 p.m., and the procedure took place immediately afterward. So, I spent the first day and a half strolling through the streets of Istanbul, eating mezze, and drinking ayran (a Turkish yogurt drink – highly recommended). The preliminary examination went perfectly, and before I knew it, I was sitting one floor up in front of the operating room. I still remember the cold in that room – but the air conditioning keeps the rooms practically germ-free. After being fitted with a surgical cap and gown, you relax in the massage chair, and then it begins! The worst part for me was the brightness! Although, it wasn’t so bad for the second eye. In any case, you don’t need to be afraid of pain, because there isn’t any! The operation was over very quickly, and before I knew it, I was back in the warmer waiting room. Then it was back to the hotel to get some well-deserved sleep, and it was like a miracle – I could already see clearly without glasses or contact lenses!
Warm regards,
