Distinguishing a 10-cent coin from a 20-cent coin – Report from Wednesday, April 25, 2012
My desire for better vision was so strong. I wasn’t yet a glasses wearer, but constantly needing reading glasses for text messages, price tags, reading the newspaper, and much more severely limited my quality of life. I decided to have laser eye surgery in Istanbul. My friend, who lives in Istanbul and encouraged me, was a great support. Her daughter, mother, and even her little nephew (who was two months old at the time) had laser eye surgery at the same clinic with great success. So I decided on Turkey. I then came across SwissLASIK. I can highly recommend this organization. Mr. Karaagacli gave me excellent information and arranged an appointment for me. We arrived at the hospital very punctually. The clinic is in a beautiful location with a view of a mosque. The hospital made a great impression on me. Very clean. The Acibadem Hospital is very professionally run. The preliminary examinations started soon after. It simply takes a lot of time. This should definitely be factored in. We arrived at the clinic at 8 a.m. and didn’t leave until 6 p.m. But this time is necessary. Don’t get impatient or nervous. It’s worth it. Today I feel like a first-grader who’s just discovered reading. It’s so much fun to distinguish a 10-cent coin from a 20-cent coin, and to read the smallest print. I’m incredibly grateful that I can see 100% again. Yes, I can even see the tiniest speck of dust. The operation was very successful. I felt a little uneasy during the surgery. I couldn’t see the center or understand what they meant. But the others had the same experience. If this happens to you, pay attention to the green dot. After the operation, I couldn’t open my eyes for about an hour. I had a lot of tears. Otherwise, I didn’t feel any pain or burning. After I could open my eyes again, I felt absolutely wonderful. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I highly recommend it. Thank you, Mr. Karaagacli, for organizing this for us. You’re doing an incredibly great job here. Thank you very much and all the best for your future. Monika Scarpellini, Bäretswil
