How Good are LASIK Surgeries in Istanbul? – Report from Monday, November 23, 2015
I inquired about laser eye surgery. I got an appointment with Swisslasik at the Züspa trade fair, where I received information about the organization and treatment.
After some consideration, I decided to travel to Istanbul with my daughter as my companion.
Mr. Serdar Kara responded quickly and efficiently to our travel requests and organized everything for us. On November 5, 2015, we flew to Istanbul, where we were picked up at the airport and taken to our hotel. The hotel was well-maintained and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful.
The next day, we were picked up and taken to the hospital. Two other people from Switzerland had also traveled with me for eye surgery. We all had the preliminary examination. While the results were being evaluated, we were able to have lunch in the hospital restaurant. Afterwards, we were picked up again, and each of us had an individual consultation with the doctor, which was translated. During this consultation, we were given further explanation of the surgery procedure and how to use the eye drops for aftercare.
Everyone was taken to the operating room individually. We put on protective shoes, gowns, and caps, and then our eyes were numbed with drops. I was led onto a table and simply had to lie still and look at the red laser dot… The whole thing seemed to go by very quickly; it was a rather unpleasant feeling, but painless. The only thing I felt briefly was when the clamp was put in my eye. After that, I was given black protective goggles.
We were driven back to the hotel. I was very grateful for my daughter, who had been putting in my eye drops every hour because my eyes watered as soon as I opened them. After five hours, we went outside for some fresh air and then went to sleep.
The next morning I could see perfectly well without glasses. We were then taken to the hospital for a follow-up examination. The follow-up went well, but my left eye still needed a little more care, so the doctor decided we should come back two days later, before our trip home.
Our hospital staff gave us great tips on what to see and how to get there. This allowed us to enjoy the city and its sights.
On the day of departure, there was another check, which confirmed that everything was fine. We were driven to the airport and flew home.
I feel great not wearing glasses and still being able to see everything clearly. I just need to get used to the fact that I now need reading glasses for reading and writing.
But I can only recommend that nearsighted people get corrective surgery.
