Excellent care, organization, a fantastic hospital, and of course, the price!!! – Report from Tuesday, November 6, 2012
A year ago, I met someone during a training course who had also been to SwissLasik in Istanbul. He told me a lot about his experience, and shortly afterwards, another person from our class went to Istanbul with friends, and they were all very enthusiastic and spoke highly of it. As I am already 46 years old, I would have had to get a Varilux pair of glasses made, which would have cost me around 1000 Swiss Francs. As it often goes, you need new glasses every 4-5 years, so for me, the decision was clear – I wanted to have my eyes lasered. Since I had only heard good things about SwissLasik, it was clear where I wanted to go. We went to Zurich and attended the information evening. We were very well advised, and all our questions were answered competently, and we drove home feeling confident. A week later, I contacted Mr. Karaagacli, and he sent us the offers. Shortly thereafter, I “booked” for three people – my daughter, my son, and myself. On October 13th, the day arrived, and we were really looking forward to it. The flight was good, and we were picked up at the airport in Istanbul by a friendly man. We had a hotel in the middle of the city, clean, quiet, and friendly. We spent three days exploring the city, and on Tuesday, things became “serious.” In the morning, we were picked up from the hotel by the hospital taxi and taken to the clinic. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a German-speaking man, who stayed with us all day. We could ask questions, and although we knew what was ahead of us, we felt comfortable! Naturally, we were nervous, but it was alright. After several examinations and tests, we had a final consultation with the surgeon. He was a very charming man with a calm voice, and I felt very well looked after. Then came the operation, which lasted about 8 minutes. Excitement, nervousness, a fireworks display of colours in my eyes, and then it was over. We were told in advance that after the surgery, our eyes would tear for about 4 hours, the light would be very dazzling, there would be a stinging sensation in the eyes, but after that, we would already see much better than before the operation. And that’s exactly how it was. The operation didn’t hurt at all, and the 4 hours after were not very pleasant, but bearable. We were taken back to the hotel, where we lay down in bed and slept for 2 hours. After that, the world already looked completely different! The next day, we felt great. We went shopping, of course, with sunglasses. It was just wonderful. My children could hardly remember ever being without glasses, and now!!! One day after the surgery, seeing without glasses, almost unimaginable, but that’s how it is. I can only recommend SwissLasik to everyone. Everything is just perfect: care, organisation, sensational hospital, and of course, the price!!!
