Patient report on laser eye surgery in Turkey – Report from Thursday, July 25, 2013

Here I’m sending you my impressions of the preliminary examination, as well as the trip and surgery in Istanbul. Your clinic was recommended to me by my brother-in-law, who is also very satisfied with the result. As soon as I contacted SwissLasik, I immediately received an initial follow-up appointment. No long waiting times, which I greatly appreciated. SwissLasik was also very flexible in scheduling the surgery. The clinic in Zurich, where I had my preliminary examination, was very nice and comfortably furnished. The team and the doctors are all very friendly and accommodating. I was always kept informed about what was happening. I received very straightforward and competent advice. At this clinic, too, there were no long waiting times. Communication with SwissLasik via email was uncomplicated, simple, and quick. They were also always reachable by phone. The travel documents were sent to me shortly before the trip. A great, informative booklet containing information about the flight, hotel, transportation, surgery, aftercare, sights, and connections was included. Upon arriving in Istanbul, we were picked up by a driver, and we immediately felt at ease. The driver was very friendly and told us about the sights of Istanbul during the drive to the hotel. We were recognized immediately upon arrival, and everything there also went smoothly and quickly. The hotel, recommended by SwissLasik, was comfortable and well-appointed. Its location was very central, so there were plenty of things to do after the surgery. At the Acibadem clinic, I received a very warm and welcoming reception. An interpreter, who was waiting for me there, accompanied me through all the examinations and the surgery. He always arranged a driver for me. I never felt helpless or misunderstood, which I greatly appreciated, as I don’t speak or understand Turkish. The surgery was performed quite quickly, and every step was explained and described to me in detail. I was never afraid. The preparation took longer than the surgery itself. After the operation, I was given a thorough explanation of what I could do and should avoid, as well as things I might encounter, which I shouldn’t be afraid of. The doctor made a very competent impression. The day after the operation, I had a follow-up appointment, which was scheduled extra early in the morning so that my companion and I could still explore Istanbul. Overall, I would recommend the trip and the operation because it was professional and affordable. Because the operation didn’t take place in Switzerland, I also had the opportunity to experience a different culture. Further examinations will be conducted in Switzerland, and I am confident that these will also meet my expectations and that I can maintain this positive impression. The next operation for a family member is already being planned. I haven’t needed my glasses since the operation; I had problems with my distance vision. Now I’ll follow the doctor’s aftercare instructions for six months. After that, I hope to have excellent vision. I thank SwissLasik for the fantastic success and wish all patients the same.
