Experience report – Hair transplant in Istanbul, Türkiye – Report from Wednesday, October 28, 2015
In June, I attended an information day in Bern where the entire process was explained to me. Initially, I was very skeptical and scoured the internet for information. However, Dr. Demirkan provided me with the necessary information in a very friendly manner. Afterwards, I booked immediately, and just three months later, the procedure began.
I flew from Zurich to Istanbul on September 27, 2015, and was picked up at the airport as agreed and driven to the hotel.
On September 28, 2015, I walked to the hospital at 9:00 AM. Incidentally, the hotel was 200 meters from Acibadem Hospital, so it was easily accessible on foot. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a woman (an interpreter) who took me to Dr. Demirkan. We discussed the entire FUE procedure. He then began measuring my hair with a device to determine the optimal locations for implanting the new hairs. Afterward, I was taken to the room where the PRP treatment began.
In the afternoon I had time for myself and went to visit the beautiful city of Istanbul.
As on the previous day, I went to the hospital again at 9:00 a.m. on September 29, 2015. Upon arrival, a gentleman was playing relaxing music on the piano at reception, which calmed me down considerably.
Then it began. A doctor took blood samples and afterwards accompanied me to the room where the treatment would take place. Three doctors approached me and introduced themselves. Then they drew the hairline to show me where they would implant the grafts. I was able to choose the line freely, and it was drawn on. They also gave me recommendations based on their own experience to ensure the final result would be as inconspicuous as possible.
Then it began. My hair was completely shaved off, and I received several injections of anesthetic. Like regular injections, you barely feel them. Aside from the injections, you feel absolutely nothing during the procedure. The hair transplant took a total of five hours, and they implanted 3,000 grafts.
The treatment went smoothly and painlessly, and the time passed very quickly. Three people were present and involved in the treatment. A TV was also playing, but it was difficult to see while lying down.
After the FUE procedure, I was taken to a hotel to rest; I had no pain.
The next day, September 30, 2015, I had an appointment at 11:00 am to change the bandage on the back of my head, and at 2:00 pm I was driven to the airport to fly home.
I would definitely have the treatment with MedicalTravel in Istanbul again. Everything went according to plan and I had absolutely no pain. The result looks fantastic so far. The Acibadem hospital is state-of-the-art (like a luxury hotel), the staff was very friendly, the hygiene was top-notch, and the pick-up service worked flawlessly.
Once home, I waited 3 days and then started to gently wash my new hair with lotion and shampoo.
I repeated this for 10 days. The scab was completely gone afterward, and I only had a very slight redness left in the treated area. The donor area was also almost completely healed, and the growing hair makes it barely noticeable.
I had imagined the FUE treatment to be much more painful and unpleasant. I never experienced any pain, and everything went according to plan. Four weeks have now passed, and the transplanted hairs are starting to fall out. I’m looking forward to the final result, but I’m already convinced it will be fantastic.
Thank you so much for the fantastic support, and I would highly recommend MEDICALTRAVEL and the FUE treatment to everyone. Kind regards, Marco S.
