LASIK technology Istanbul
The excellent reputation and success of Acibadem LASIK treatment are due just as much to outstanding technology as to a highly trained team.
The main prerequisite for perfect results is an accurate diagnosis. For this reason, WaveLight has optimally aligned its diagnostic systems with the laser devices. Using specialised software, the measurement results are transferred to the laser systems. This allows the treatment to be perfectly tailored to the individual needs of the patient’s eye, ensuring a reliable and precise treatment outcome.
The Visx Star S4 laser is one of the most up-to-date, fastest and most advanced eye lasers currently available on the market and has even been approved by the American FDA (Food and Drug Administration). Its reputation is based on its extremely precise results, the highest level of safety and patient comfort.
The clinic offers advanced CLB microkeratome technology and femtosecond laser technology.
The equipment
- New Visx Star S4
- CARL ZEISS ReLEx SMILE 800
All equipment is new. No second-hand devices from other clinics are used in our clinics.

Safety
Our quality of life is influenced by the health of our eyes. Therefore, safety is a fundamental prerequisite for successful treatment. These laser devices are equipped with an innovative safety principle known as PerfectPulse technology. This technology was developed to perform the treatment while taking into account all inclinations and angles of the cornea.
By sealing all optical components, performance fluctuations caused by extreme environmental influences such as humidity and temperature are prevented.
The high-speed eye tracker, which monitors eye movements 400 times per second, places the laser pulses with pinpoint accuracy and adjusts the laser beam in less than 6 milliseconds. As a result, the treatment remains precisely centred even if the eye moves.
Drying of the eye caused by thermal effects is prevented, thereby promoting healing.

Visual quality
Eye-Q, the developed wavefront-optimised technology, preserves the natural shape of the cornea, improves night vision, enhances contrast sensitivity (the ability to distinguish similar colours, for example a grey cat at dusk) and reduces sensitivity to glare. This system offers the possibility of achieving vision better than 20/20 (100%) after the procedure. This enhanced visual acuity is also referred to as eagle vision, as an eagle can see better than 20/20 both during the day and at night.
Performance
The Eye-Q system operates at a frequency of 400 laser pulses per second. The treatment of 4 to 5 dioptres of short- or long-sightedness takes an average of 8 to 10 seconds, which is about the time needed to pour a cup of coffee. Shorter laser treatments have shown that, in such procedures, the healing phase is correspondingly brief and the occurrence of postoperative infections as well as over- and under-corrections is extremely low.
Why is it important to be treated with the latest, most advanced and fastest laser technology? Below are some reasons:
- Older eye lasers have an error rate of 25 per cent. Patients treated with such lasers generally experience visual problems at night.
- Older lasers alter the natural shape of the cornea when correcting short- and long-sightedness. In addition, peaks are created during the correction, which can make the perception of contrast more difficult. Wavefront-optimised technology and our professional team protect the natural shape of the cornea by applying additional laser pulses.
- The long processing time of older lasers results in a prolonged treatment duration, which in turn can lead to a higher risk of infection as well as over- and under-corrections.
Femto-LASIK
The clinic also offers femto LASIK. Femto LASIK, also known as femtosecond LASIK, laser LASIK or intra LASIK, represents the latest procedure in laser eye treatment for short-sightedness, long-sightedness and astigmatism.
In femto LASIK, a so-called femtosecond laser is used in addition to the excimer laser. Previously, during LASIK, a thin lamella of the cornea, known as a flap, was cut and lifted using a special mini-plane called a microkeratome. In modern femto LASIK, the femtosecond laser replaces the microkeratome, making it possible for the first time to perform the LASIK procedure entirely without the use of mechanical instruments – hence the term laser LASIK.
After the laser cut, the superficial corneal lamella is lifted and, as in LASIK, the cornea is reshaped with an excimer laser to correct the refractive error.
It is particularly suitable for patients who previously had concerns about mechanically cutting the cornea with a microkeratome and who prefer the high precision of a laser cut.

ReLex Smile LASIK
ReLEx® SMILE is the first laser eye surgery procedure performed using only a single laser: the VisuMax femtosecond laser. The procedure is painless and does not require the flap typical of LASIK.
First, the corneal disc (lenticule) is prepared within the cornea using the VisuMax femtosecond laser. During this process, you will see a bright spot but feel very little. Immediately after the lenticule preparation, a small opening of 2 to 3 mm is made – also with the VisuMax. Through this opening, the surgeon detaches the lenticule and carefully removes it. The small incision is then checked again. Afterward, like most patients, you will be surprised at how quickly everything went and how little you felt. Due to the small size of the incision, no special precautions are necessary postoperatively; you can usually resume sports, wash your hair, or shower the following day. Please find more information here.
With its ultrasound sensors and integrated cameras, the VISUMAX 800 provides the most detailed data currently possible. Thanks to its intelligent robotic assistance systems, it offers a sensitive and safe treatment experience. The VISUMAX 800, which completes the procedure in just 10 seconds thanks to its laser pulse rate of 2 MHz, minimises potential complications and allows the post-treatment process to be as comfortable as possible.
