EXPERIENCE REPORT – HAIR TRANSPLANTATION IN ISTANBUL – Report from Friday, January 8, 2016
I’m 26 years old and recently decided to have a hair transplant in Turkey because I’m suffering from severe hair loss. At first, I didn’t want to admit to myself that my hair loss was bothering me more than I’d like, but eventually I had to admit that it wasn’t. In this day and age, I think you shouldn’t hide it anymore and should be open about it, but it also takes a bit of courage and certainly a lot of overcoming your inhibitions.
First, I researched possible treatment methods online, compared various providers and prices, asked around among relatives, and finally, on a friend’s recommendation, I ended up at MedicalTravel. I was able to follow my friend’s process over several months and was very impressed with the result.
Afterwards, I contacted MedicalTravel directly and requested a quote. I then received a preliminary quote along with the necessary documents outlining the process. I was also able to schedule an appointment for a consultation and on-site examination in Switzerland. A doctor, a translator, and the head of MedicalTravel are present at the on-site consultation. You can ask anything you have and will receive a detailed answer. To make things easier for you, you will be shown pictures illustrating the procedure. Even after this examination, you can contact MedicalTravel at any time with further questions.
Whether I will be satisfied with the final result, I cannot yet say, as the procedure was only a month ago. However, I can say that I am very satisfied with the progress so far and I am firmly convinced that it will turn out very well. I am quite satisfied with the organization by MedicalTravel, as everything was well organized, the hospital was of a very high standard (similar to Switzerland), the doctor was competent, the care (with excellent German skills) was very friendly, and ultimately, the price was the deciding factor.
The treatment team who performed the procedure on me were very, very friendly. The anesthetic was quite painful, but during the procedure I felt absolutely no pain. The procedure took about six hours, and afterward I was quite exhausted and just wanted to go back to the hotel. Don’t be alarmed when you look in the mirror; it looks very painful and not exactly beautiful, and you need to be aware of that. People will stare at you as if you were from the moon or someone with a disability. I don’t say this out of disrespect, but that’s the reality. Many people aren’t familiar with it and are curious, which is why they look. It’s very, very difficult at first, but you will learn to accept and ignore the stares.
My overall impression is positive and I would do it again anytime. The care, the doctor, the hospital, the treatment, and the result were all excellent.
I would like to thank you again.
Kind regards,
Robin Zbinden
