My LASEK laser eye surgery in Istanbul – report from Friday, June 5, 2009
Experience report by Nadja T., 5 June 2009
As I am very physically active and travel a lot in Africa and Asia, and also enjoy visiting desert regions, I found glasses and contact lenses increasingly inconvenient. In addition, I began to have more and more problems with contact lenses due to many years of use. I therefore decided to have a preliminary examination with an ophthalmologist in Switzerland. Unfortunately, it turned out that my cornea was too thin for LASIK and that only LASEK would be an option. After a long period of consideration, mainly because of the usually somewhat longer healing process, I decided in favour of LASEK and booked through swisslasik.
As I had heard only positive feedback from several people in my circle of acquaintances, I chose to undergo laser eye surgery in Istanbul, as the price–performance ratio is second to none. My high expectations were exceeded by swisslasik: highly professional and perfect service at the clinic, punctual transfers from the hotel to the clinic, and very friendly people. The laser procedure was completely painless and not uncomfortable at all.
Despite LASEK, where vision usually becomes optimal only after about seven days, I was able to explore Istanbul for three days. An absolutely fascinating and very clean city with interesting markets, outstanding cultural treasures, friendly people and excellent food. The laser operation has enormously improved my quality of life, and it still feels like a miracle to wake up in the morning and simply be able to see.
