After being able to see into the distance only with glasses for over 35 years, I researched laser treatments abroad on the internet in January 2017.
It wasn’t that I suffered from wearing glasses. The trigger for my decision to have laser eye surgery was a phone call with my 80-year-old father. He told me that he had had his first eye lasered yesterday and could now remove the bandage. He was overwhelmed by his newfound vision and assured me that he felt like a new man and had already scheduled the appointment for laser surgery on his second eye.
Since I needed new glasses again at that time, I wondered if it wasn’t time for me to have eye surgery and started researching online. I discovered that surgery in Switzerland would cost several thousand Swiss francs. My brother had gone to Turkey for treatment ten years earlier, as had a colleague. Both were very satisfied and convinced me that the standards in the clinics were no different than in Switzerland and that they had had very positive experiences.
During further research online, I quickly came across SwissLasik. I contacted them without obligation, studied the comprehensive information, and received an immediate response. I then decided to travel to Antalya with my husband without a preliminary examination and booked a package including flight, transfer, accommodation and meals at the Antalya eye clinic, and the surgery.
After my first night and breakfast, I was picked up at 10:00 a.m. sharp by two women. One spoke perfect German and the other perfect English. After the various examinations, I went back to my room for lunch and in the afternoon went to the operating room. My caregiver met me in my room and accompanied and looked after me the entire time. The surgery was completely painless and only lasted a few minutes. When I sat up from the operating table afterward and looked around the room, I realized I could see without my glasses. After the subsequent check-up, I was given three different eye drops and their use was explained to me. After an hour, my eyes started to burn, and I was sensitive to light and just wanted to keep them closed. To ensure I could sleep well, I later asked for a painkiller, and I slept like a log. The next morning, the burning sensation was completely gone, and I felt great. My husband and I got into a taxi and explored Antalya.
I am very satisfied with SwissLasik. They are reliable, professionally organized, and very friendly. The same applies to the treatment at the Antalya Eye Clinic. I received very friendly and warm treatment. The room was spotless, modernly furnished, and looked like a hotel room. The care was excellent, and everything was perfectly organized. Most of the doctors spoke perfect German or very good English and behaved in a very Western manner. I had complete confidence. The treatment felt no different than if I had been in a Swiss clinic.
Today, one month after the treatment, I still reach for my glasses every morning when I wake up. Finding nothing there brings a smile to my face! Life without glasses is wonderful, I’m very happy, and I can highly recommend the treatment to everyone. I also highly recommend the stay at the eye clinic in Antalya.
